Tylenol 8 Hour Tablets – Acetaminophen 650 mg Extended Release

TYLENOL® 8 HR is an extended-release acetaminophen medication formulated for temporary relief of minor pain and fever. Each caplet contains 650 mg of acetaminophen, a widely used pain reliever and fever reducer. The extended-release formulation is designed to provide relief for up to 8 hours when used according to the product label.

Tylenol 8 Hour may be used for temporary relief of minor muscle aches, backache, minor arthritis pain, headache, toothache, menstrual cramps, and aches associated with the common cold. It can also temporarily reduce fever. 

For adults and children 12 years and older, the current TYLENOL 8HR labeling states to take 2 caplets every 8 hours with water, swallow the caplets whole, and not exceed 6 caplets in 24 hours. Children under 12 should not use this product unless directed by a healthcare professional. 

Important Safety Information

Acetaminophen can cause severe liver damage if more than the labeled amount is taken, if it is combined with other medicines containing acetaminophen, or with heavy alcohol use. Do not combine Tylenol 8 Hour with another acetaminophen-containing product unless a healthcare professional tells you to do so. People with liver disease should ask a doctor before use.
