Description

Aspirin 81mg Low Dose Tablets | Daily Low-Dose Aspirin for Cardiovascular Care

Aspirin 81mg Low Dose Tablets (often called low-dose or “baby” aspirin) contain 81 mg of aspirin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Under the guidance of a healthcare professional, low-dose aspirin may be recommended for certain people to help reduce the risk of blood clot formation in specific cardiovascular conditions. Aspirin also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties and is approved for temporary relief of minor aches and pains. It should only be used for cardiovascular prevention when recommended by a healthcare provider because daily aspirin is not appropriate for everyone.

Aspirin works by reducing platelet aggregation, helping prevent blood clots that can contribute to heart attack or ischemic stroke in selected patients. Enteric-coated and delayed-release formulations are designed to pass through the stomach before dissolving, although they are not intended for rapid pain relief. Always follow the dosing instructions provided by your healthcare provider or the product label.

How Aspirin 81mg Works

Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase (COX-1), reducing the production of thromboxane A2, a substance that promotes platelet aggregation. This antiplatelet effect helps lower the likelihood of clot formation in appropriately selected patients.

Important Safety Information

Aspirin 81mg is not appropriate for everyone. Daily low-dose aspirin should only be started or continued after discussing the benefits and risks with a healthcare provider. Aspirin can increase the risk of stomach bleeding and other bleeding complications. Children and teenagers recovering from viral illnesses should not use aspirin because of the risk of Reye’s syndrome. Seek immediate medical attention if signs of severe allergic reaction or unusual bleeding occur.
