Advil Liqui-Gels 200 mg Ibuprofen

Advil Liqui-Gels contain solubilized ibuprofen equivalent to 200 mg of ibuprofen per liquid-filled capsule. Ibuprofen belongs to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class and is used as a pain reliever and fever reducer. 

Advil Liqui-Gels are indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with headaches, toothaches, backaches, menstrual cramps, the common cold, muscular aches, and minor arthritis pain. They also temporarily reduce fever. 

For adults and children 12 years and older, the current product directions state to take 1 capsule every 4–6 hours while symptoms persist; if 1 capsule does not adequately relieve pain or fever, 2 capsules may be used. Do not exceed 6 capsules in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. Children under 12 should ask a doctor.

Important Safety Information

Advil Liqui-Gels contain an NSAID and may cause severe stomach bleeding. The risk can be higher in people age 60 or older, those with a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding problems, people taking blood-thinning or steroid medicines, and people taking other NSAIDs. 

Ibuprofen can also cause serious allergic reactions, particularly in people who are allergic to aspirin. Seek medical attention immediately if symptoms such as hives, facial swelling, wheezing, shock, rash, or blisters occur. 

NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, should generally be avoided at 20 weeks of pregnancy or later unless specifically directed by a doctor, because of potential fetal and delivery-related risks.

Use the smallest effective dose and follow the current package directions. Do not combine Advil Liqui-Gels with other ibuprofen-containing medicines or other NSAIDs unless instructed by a healthcare professional.
